I can't tell you how obsessed I am with this wedding, this couple, these details, everything was absolute perfection! I met with Julie and James for their NYC engagement session this fall, I had spent the night before in the hospital with my little guy and a bad case of pneumonia so I was really looking forward to a night alone in a hotel for a good quiet sleep. Little did I know that Julie, James and I would become best friends while touring NYC and having a great meal (a few bottles of wine maybe...). I didn't get back to the hotel until midnight and woke up feeling just a tiny bit hungover. No good nights sleep... but it was SO worth it! I had so much fun with them and thought, "this is why engagement sessions are so important". I left feeling their their friend and 6 months later in Florida I still felt the same way.
Julie's parents live in Marco Island so it was the perfect spot for their destination wedding. They picked April because it was the least risky in terms of weather. Well I arrived Thursday to a gorgeous day, Friday was cloudy, Saturday was... Let's just say the forecast was calling for tornados, thunder, lightening and all day rain. There is only one thing to do when the weather threatens your day; be happy. Julie and James were smiling, in love, laughing, and enjoying literally every second of their beautiful wedding. I am so very lucky to have been there to share it with them and their wonderful families.
Julie and her twin sister Missy could easily becoming wedding planners. They thought of every little detail and most of them were handmade by them. DIY at its best! (AMAZING invitations, wish I could show more but I don't want to give away their address! Lace from mom's wedding dress wrapped around bouquet, custom wine glasses for each bridesmaid...)
James surprised Julie with a sapphire band to go with the wedding band. She clearly loves it!
Not a dry eye in the room when dad came in to see his little girl for the first time.
I took this picture of James because of the special meaning of the pendant BUT doesn't he look like such a hottie too!?!
First Look!! Nothing beats doing a first look. They are romantic, sweet, intimate and always make the rest of the day flow better. How happy are they!? The last image was taken by my fantastic second shooter that day, Deborah Cull, THANK YOU!
I turned around and saw this exchange happening, LOL! How appropriate!
Grandmother, Mom and Bride. Three generations of love.
They wrote their own vows and I love how you can see the scribbles and crossing out on this little note.
The ceremony was moved from being on the golf course, to a tent and then to inside once the weather forecast really didn't change. Divine Design by Guerdy blew me away with the planning, details, flowers and complete gorgeousness of the day she organized!
Clearly I loved these mini-champagne bottles and I just couldn't decide which picture I liked best!
Their wedding party was so much fun to photograph as you can tell!
Even the cocktail hour was full of fabulous details! Thanks to Deborah for some awesome shots.
J&J did a guest book with their engagement photos. One of my favorite products that I offer! Guests love the personalization, suggestions and questions to answer, rather than just "congrats".
OBSESSED with both of these!!!!!!!!
How can you beat a cathedral veil!?
What reception would be complete without Magic Flip Flops, Glow Sticks and 80's shades!?
Julie interupted her mom and dad's dance; they didn't mind at all. I love this moment!
Mother and Sister of the Groom couldn't have had more fun on the dance floor!
Ok which one of the next two do you love the most!? I can't decide.
This was my first wedding with a sorority chant and these girls know how to have a good time!
Bon Voyage! Enjoy every second of Tahiti!!
