RKP | Newborn Photography | Newborn Headband Shout Out

I love pretty! Pretty babies, pretty mommies, pretty nurseries! I get all that with newborn girls. Little tiny ladies are so fun to photograph, especially when they have been decorated :) My friend Carolyn LeBarron helped me to decorate my newest little princess Emmy. I love showing up when mommies have accessories for their little ones, hats and headbands especially! So I thought of Carrie when I was dreaming about my next newborn session and she sent me a bunch to be modeled. Miss Emmy was perfectly content to be the supermodel and will be paid with her own headbands!

RKP | A whole new me

I'm so happy to write this post and let you all know about the new look of Rebekah Kay Photography! I decided last winter that I needed a new logo. I liked the old one, but something about it just didn't excite me and I needed something that I LOVED! Well, I found it. I knew I wanted something a little more modern and pretty, which helped me to realized that is the look I always strive for with my images. Modern & Pretty is now my mission statement (ha, very in depth misson statement I know but that's about as far as I can get with one of those right now!) 

I actually designed this new logo myself because I knew exactly what I wanted so it was just easier for me to create it than to try to explain it to someone else. Although I did use that expert designers at 36design to fine tune it for me and make it totally perfect (those guys are awesome!).

So here it is! The unveiling of the new Rebekah Kay Photography...

 

p.s. now the hard part is updating my website, blog, stationery, packaging, etc. I'll do that with all my free time (I don't have one second of that these days!)

RKP | Albums

I just got back from a wonderful few days with the in-laws in sunny Florida for some much needed R&R. It's always a bummer coming back to New England in March (especially with our fabulously flooded basement), but I walked in the door to 4 huge boxes! Albums!!! January/February/March are album design and production mayhem. Its the slow season so it's also the best time to tackle the weddings from the previous season. I love each an everyone of them and I can't wait for all you lucky brides & grooms to get your mail this week. 

 

Now if I could only get to work on my own wedding album from 2007...

I just finished the album design for one of my favorite couples of all time!! These two are beyond fun! We had the perfect day and I think it shows in the pictures.

Wedding | Lynne & Brian's Album

I figured some of you 2009, 2010 and potential brides might enjoy this! Unlike most of your other wedding vendors, the photographer still has a ton of work to do AFTER the wedding. That's why photography is so important because its the thing you get to take away from the wedding. It's why you're excited to come home from the honeymoon! Most of my couples get an album in their package or add one after the fact, but either way you do it, you'll be happy you did. 

This link will take you to an album layout design that I've just completed. The Fine Art Albums are gorgeous leather bound pieces of art to display in your home. The cool thing about the fine art albums is that they are flush mount, rather than matted. This means you get to include a lot more pictures than your standard matted album which is the icing on the cake! 

Once the leather is selected, I'll get the order into production and I'll make sure to blog the finished version so you can get the full effect! And heres a fun picture of Lynne from their wedding, LOVE her!

RKP | Holiday Cards

Now that I'm finally done creating, ordering and delivering the 27 holiday card design for my amazing clients I'm finally getting to work on mine! I've been so busy editing family portraits, vacations, wedding events for my BFF Mandy, that I haven't been doing much shooting. Last week I went in for a facial with my amazing esthetician, Patti Irwin, in her new location and had my camera with me as usual. Patti is building a new website and using some of these pictures.

Design | Faces of Hope

I am so proud to say that Faces of Hope has finally been published and ready for distribution!! This has been a two year project very close to my heart and I'm so excited to share it with you. As part of my graduation requirement I needed to do a not for profit project and I was lucky enough to be able to work with the oncology unit at Boston Children's Hospital. Denise Ethier and I spent a month at the hospital photographing the kids on 7 West. What amazing little people they were! So happy and strong and inspiring! 

Faces of Hope is a compilation of our photographs and writings by the children or their families and is meant to be a source of strength to other families going through this difficult time in their children's lives.
