Before I left for vacation I got to photograph the most perfect little girl ever created, she is also my second-cousin-in-law (I think that's what we are!?) Anyway, she is absolutely gorgeous. You can't say that about most newborns, but she is GORGEOUS! I know where she gets it from too... her beautiful momma!
Leigh asked me what my favorite newborn image I shot, was it the motorcycle one I just did? the bookshelves? And I couldn't come up with an answer, but I thought of it as I drove home. I love the simple ones. Don't get me wrong, I love the fun and creative shots, doing something really cool and different, but when it comes down to it, what I really love is ones like this. Pure sweetness. No bells & whistles & frills & glitter; just a perfect little baby.

I absolutely love photographing the new babies of my previous brides&grooms! Caitie and Ryan are definitely VIP at Rebekah Kay Photography and I am so happy every chance I get to see them, especially now that they have welcomed perfect Avery into the world...
I want a sweet little girl just like this!
Newborn sessions always take a bit longer than the average family session. There is a lot of waiting while we get baby nice and sleepy! For example, this series below, the time stamp from the first image is 11:28AM and then when I finally got her asleep and took these last two shots the time stamp is 11:46. Almost 20 minutes to get these, but it was SO worth it!
Ok I dare you not to smile when you see this one! Avery! She was so over me :) I couldn't love this more!

Haven't blogged much from family sessions lately, but I just had to show off some of my favorites from this newborn session...
ABSOLUTE PERFECTION
Guess whose daddy is a chef!? Lucky girl!
Then look who decides to smile! Newborns smiling is always such a happy surprise and this is the only one Arianna gave us, guess she likes the Harley!
How happy are these two!?

When I was pregnant with my son I was so bummed b/c I wanted a belly buddy! Two of my best friends were pregnant and only weeks apart, but I was four months behind them so we could never get a cute belly shot of us (maybe baby #3 M&K?).
This time around when my husband broke our big news to his best friends, we found out we had some company! This summer there will be 4 new Fairfield University Babies in the world!! K&C are due just days after us and L&E are having twins around the same time!! Isn't that amazing! The best part is I have belly buddies... the worst part is that I won't be able to take their newborn pictures b/c I'll be on maternity leave :(
We all got together last weekend and I convinced them to take some maternity photos with me. It only took about 10 minutes and I got two of my favorite maternity photos ever!
How cute are we!?! (Everyone keeps telling me how low I'm carrying and I didn't know what they meant until I saw this picture, ha!)
LOVE this one! Isn't the light amazing!!?
How sweet is the one on the left!? TWINS!

This little angel slept the entire time and let us try a bunch of fun spots around the house! I love it when they do that :)
Thanks to Pink Petal Boutique for the awesome purple headband!

Want to see a picture from the very first newborn session I ever photographed????
This is Mikey. His dad is a great friend of my husband so they let me photograph their little guy when I was just starting out in the newborn world.
This is his brand new baby sister, Clare! We spent most of Clare's photo shoot recreating shots from Mikey's newborn session. Wow, did I work differently then! I'm amazed the difference it makes once you have your own baby. I am so much more confident and creative now that I've had my own little model :)
She smiled for me. I love her!
Check out Mikey now! Clare is so lucky to have such an awesome fun big brother
