This project has been in the works for over a year and I had hoped to have it completed by this January, but alas I'm just now making the announcement! After a ton of work, learning more techy lingo than I've ever wanted to know, lots of trial and error and frustration, I finally have my new websites up and running. Yes you read that right, websites! I've split Rebekah Kay Photography on to two different webpages. Now my brides can see what they want and my mamas can see what they want!
Splitting up my brand has been a goal of mine for a long time and I'm so very happy that I've finally completed it. Rebekah Kay Photography is really two different brands with two different types of customers, so now I can focus on each separately and so can you!
If you haven't already, take some time to check them out! They have actually been up for a couple months now, but there have been a lot of kinks to work out and I think they all have been BUT if you see something that needs fixed, wording that is wrong, spelling errors or anything I might have missed, let me know! I'll reward you :)

Well I know I've been MIA, but I've had one million things on my to-do list before this baby arrives... and none of the checked off things have to do with this poor neglected child, ha! I'm trying to tie up all loose ends, get album designs out, wedding galleries up, family portraits edited, print orders placed and anything else I can think of so that when this baby arrives I can spend some QT with him/her. Having a baby in the middle of busy season is crazy, but I can't tell you how excited I am to meet this little one. ANY DAY NOW!!!
Now that I'm almost all wrapped up, I'm spending all the free time I have with this perfect person who stole the biggest space in my heart. My little Jay Bird!
My maternity leave is starting now through mid-September. I will still be replying to emails weekly and my trusty COC (Coordinator of Chaos) Becky Parker, will be helping with the rest of the office work (print orders/album designs/blog posts etc.) so you won't be ignored :)

BIG NEWS: Baby #2 is arriving mid-summer 2012
I am so excited to announce that this summer, Jason will be getting a little brother or sister (it's a surprise!). Of course, my babies like to arrive right in the middle of wedding season so I will be "forced" to take time off this summer. Not much... but I'm really looking forward to not working every weekend from Memorial Day-Labor Day like I have the past 5 years!
I posted this on Facebook on Sunday and got almost 100 comments/likes, most of them about the actual picture not the news! It's funny because I've been brainstorming for months on how to "announce". So many elaborate and fun ideas that I couldn't get done for some reason or another. And then this happened. I was enjoying the 80 degree weather on the dock with my little man and took this picture. I loved the moment and didn't have my "photographer" brain on at all. I looked at it that night and thought THIS IS IT!

This gorgeous weather has me dreaming of all the beautiful landscaping, flowers and photos to come this year! I'm announcing all mini session dates now so you can secure your spot early. I will also send out availability 6 weeks prior to each session, but the best time slots usually go quickly.

Hello? Do I have any followers left after my winter break!? I hope so!!
I always take off the month of January to recover/refresh/relax after the insanity of wedding season and holiday portraits. From August through New Years I didn't have one free Saturday; isn't that crazy!? I had a lot planned for January break: NOTHING! I was successful :) I absolutely love what I do, but taking turning off my photography brain for awhile is the best way to start a new season.
February is always Marketing Month and there is a huge change coming soon! I'm so excited to show you what we've been working on for months over here.
March is Business Management Month... my least favorite of the year! I'm a creative... numbers make my head spin but forecasting, budgeting, taxes and all that horribly boring accounting stuff is so important. Maybe I'll hire my husband to do it this year???
April and the camera is back out. The weather is nice, the flowers are blooming and family portraits get going through December! There will be a lot of mini-sessions this year so be on the lookout for dates or email me if you want to be on the first notification list. Wedding season also starts early this year! Marco Island, here I come!!
I hope to be blogging more, considering it is Marketing Month :) And because a post isn't any fun without a picture, here is Little Miss Riley. I happily took a break from my break to photograph this perfect little girl.

Well not yet, BUT it will be here before we know it! I have the perfect gift for all those amazing dads out there, custom iPhone cover/shell with a picture of your little one! These are so awesome! I got one for my brothers, my husband and myself for Christmas and we all get stopped by people to find out where we got them. There are SO many design options! You'll notice mine is bright and fun with a big picture of my happy guy, but for the guys I went a little more abstract and not as IN YOUR FACE THIS IS MY KID (or dog in the case of my younger brother).
